My wife and I started Chasons Music (short for Chamberlain & Sons), in 2007.  Our two adult sons are wonderful musicians and help develop products and edit our web sites.  We've been working on our first product's patent as well as learning the ins and outs of manufacturing and retail sales.  2010 is the year we put Chasons Music of Chula Vista, California on the map.  At the present time we assemble our products and sell only retail on the Internet.

I grew up in Spokane, Washington and found comfort and enjoyment in music at an early age. I started piano lessons at age eight and the trombone at ten.  I took lessons from the best trombonist in the area and played my horn as much as I could.  My dream was to be a studio musician in Los Angeles.

In high school I played in the Shadle Park orchestra and jazz lab band.  On the weekends I gigged in a rock & roll band.  As a youth I never attended church but was converted to Christianity at the age of 17 when I witnessed the transformation of our lead singer when he gave his life to God.  I started to attend The Salvation Army Corps (church) and played in their fine band.  My calling to ministry came at the age of 19 and I sold my keyboards and horns and left for Officer's Training College. After graduation I was a youth pastor in Long Beach, CA.  The following year I married my wonderful wife and was sent to pastor a church in Chula Vista (south San Diego).  I have been a Christian pastor for over 35 years.

I love saling, and in 1992 I had the privilege of sailing my 20' yawl 2500 miles from San Diego to Hawaii with my best friend from Bible college.  Click here to go to my sailing web site.

Late in my 20's I purchased a used trombone (a 1947 Olds Super) and started to play professionally with the Del Bybee Big Band in San Diego, California.  I now play keyboards, trombone and cornet in my own band "Eyes Wide Open".  I hold the jazz chair in "Big Band Express" and "Rancho Santa Fe" Big Bands as well as the trombonist for the rock cover band "Inside Out", the Rythmn & Blues band "Straight Six" and the great "Shelltown Horns."
